Not many konw about the grueling things stars had to go through to look this good, marilyn once said that her make -up ritual takes 3 long hours..however other sources claim that it was the fact she didnt want to go out in front of the camara as she often had a minor case of stage fright and rumours have it she would vomit before taking centre stage.
Marilyn used to create the "Halo" effect by simply coating her face with thin layers of vaseline and then adding heaps on transculant powder ..this usually took up to 1 hour..this was the halo affect we can see on pictures.she also had a lot of facial hair in which had to be bleaced however as we can see on those photos the fair facial hair and the powder work wonders for her.
Marilyn created a sexy yet childlike pout in which is imitated by many poeple( me also ..becci)she simply drew a line over her natural lip shape and then used 5 different lipstick shades to creat that seductive look and then over that came a thick yet neatly spread blob of vaseline.
her eyes were covered with her face make up first then over the eye socket the would be a plastering of white pearl eyeshadow and then underneatha lilic shade with a tint of brown in it ..to give the half closed look and then just above her eye a light blue was applied to enphersise her eye color.
To finish it all off the eye was then closed and over the top lid was liquid eyeliner to give the cat eye look and then lightly sweeped across.
false eyelashes were then applied.
she sometimes on the rar occasion used a rose blush over her cheeks but she always highlighted her nose bridge and chin,but always shadowed under then chin to make her face appear thinner.
Marilyn opted this look throught the 1950's however she did change her appearance during her last film take"something got to give" in which she got rid of the ritual of sevaral coats of vaseline and powerder and mounts of lipstick and eye make and she opted for a more natural look.in which just consisted to a liptone lipstick gloss and a sheer foundation,pastal white and blue over the eye and liquid sweep over the eye and sevaral helpings to rose blush concentrating under then chin and cheekbones.her eyebrows were thick and so she used a eyebrows brush and sweeped them upwards and into the point we can see and then lightly enhanced them by drawing darker and thicker tails to the ends of then .

MARILYN'S HAIR
Her hair was cut to shoulder length with many layer5s cut into it and either hot air brushed or she applied hot rollers to give that cork screw curls. |
Jayne make-up
Jayne although was a rival with monroe was really nothing like marilyn..jayne as you can see is far more tanned than marilyn and she opted the sun kissed look most times,her eyes were brown and so she opted for browny tawny shades like bronze peals over her eyes. For her face jayne used to use a cream foundation in colors: Beige , honey, ivory,
to create that flat matt flawless look she gave to the camara's, then a beige fawn blush was applied to her cheeks to highlight them and under the chin.Her lips again like marilyn she would opt for several shades to give the lips a fuller look.jayne liked colors with pink tones to them she would plater red and then pink tawney colors and then rose pink and over again with scarlet red and then she would outline the lip with a deep plum tones lip liner to shape her lips perfect.
Eyes would be simple to would creat a open eyed look along with the puppy dog eyes look simply by coating the eyelid with white/beige/cream/ eyeshadows then sweeping brown just over the lid lightly.Then applying false eyelashes and then liquid eyeliner to the top and then kohl pencil to the bottom,her eyebrows were groomed to perfection then if there was a hair out of place she would remove it by using tweezers and the enhanced using light creamy beight eyebrow pencil.

Jayne Hair
Like marilyn's jayne hair was bleaced to the root and had to be treated with alot of care incase of breakage and snaps and slpit ends.
She would condition it everyday with natural remedies and then let it dry alone.Then she would apply roller's and then she waft over the hairdyer to set them apply setting lotion ..then undo and using the fingers to comb it.Then blasts off hairspray over the top. |
